BIS #7446 Newly Ordained Priests Visit Don Bosco Kapadvanj

by Fr Ashwin Macwan for BIS Mumbai

Don Bosco Kapadvanj had the privilege of hosting five newly ordained priests from the Mumbai Province: Fr Agnel Dias, Fr Avil Correa, Fr Nathaneal George, Fr Selvin D'mello, and Fr Vinay Ganawa. They were accompanied by Br Royston Colaco, the Province Vocation Promoter, during their visit to this Salesian House.

The group arrived in the morning and began their visit by exploring the diverse sectors of the institute, including DRISTI, Amrutdhara, and the Don Bosco School. Their presence brought joy and inspiration to the community as they interacted with staff and students alike.

The day's highlight was the celebration of the Solemn Holy Eucharist, where Fr Pratap Damor SDB, Rector of Don Bosco Kapadvanj, warmly welcomed the newly ordained priests. The Eucharist, animated with great devotion, was a collaborative effort involving the five new priests and the three Salesian priests of the Kapadvanj community. Fr Selvin D'mello was the principal celebrant, leading the faithful in a moving liturgy attended by staff, parishioners, and special guests.

In his homily, Fr Vinay Ganawa emphasized the importance of placing God at the center of one’s life and the joy of offering oneself to Christ. His inspiring words resonated deeply with the congregation, encouraging a renewed commitment to faith and service.

Following the Eucharist, the new priests were honored with bouquets, a token of congratulations and gratitude for their dedication to God’s ministry. The celebration concluded with a felicitation program and a hearty lunch, creating a spirit of joy and fraternity among all present.

The visit of these newly ordained priests was a moment of grace and inspiration for the Don Bosco Kapadvanj community, reminding everyone of the vitality and mission of the Salesian vocation.
