By Father Renold Lemos for BIS Mumbai
Due to the current situation stepping out unless necessary and precautionary measures are part of the 'new normal'.While the other services are made available and social distancing norms are practiced, religious institutions and various other institutions like schools, colleges and work places have shifted online. Online mass, attending online meetings from the comfort of our homes.is making everyone get used to the new normal. Since everything is getting into the digital phase, the Don Bosco Borivali youth group of 32 young people too started the yearly activities in the new academic year with its 1st online meeting on 'Google Meet' to discuss the way forward.
"Young people are the first priority of every Don Bosco institution. Don Bosco always had affinity for the youth, he cared about the youth and their wellbeing," said Father Solomon Rapol- Rector and Parish Priest Don Bosco Borivali. Father Rapol welcomed and introduced the new Youth Director Father Renold Lemos and thanked Father Jesu Robinson for animating the young people last year. Father Lemos in his maiden address said, " The trap that the devil sets for young people is idleness and an idle brain does no good." He invited the young to turn the present crisis into opportunity. As per the agenda, the rest of the meeting was brainstorming ideas and suggestions for the way forward.
After the initial online meet, the core committee decided to meet up and discuss the future plan of events,to continue despite the present situation, hoping more participation from the young people of the parish, in the forthcoming events on digital platforms.
