BIS #6778 Visit of Ishanya Foundation at DB Chakan

By Fr Xavier Bandya for BISMumbai

Ishanya Foundation, Pune, as part of their social outreach, visited Rasquinha Don Bosco, Chakan, on 24 August 2022.

Mrs Bindu Nayar, the coordinator, and Mr Kiran Zipare came to see the Technical especially Two Wheeler and Four Wheeler Mechanic (MMV) since they were interested in this particular trade. The purpose of their visit was to help the needy youngsters through the scholarship they provide. The main focus of the foundation was to help the poor youngsters to build their future through different skills in different settings around Maharashtra. Rasquinha Don Bosco has 21 students for MMV. Mrs Nayar was very much eager to know about the space and the concern shown by Salesians. Sharing with them about the objective of the institute, Fr Xavier Bandya said that mere interest of the youngsters does not help them to achieve their dream until it is firmly fixated in their minds. When students realise that they are supported, they achieve their dreams in every circumstance.

Mrs. Nayar shared their foundation’s concerns towards youngsters, especially those who are really in need in order to make these youngsters able to support their family financially. Then they met the students in groups, and shared their program with each individual student. Then, they helped them fill a scholarship form. They asked students about their reasons for choosing this particular type of field of education. Some shared that they would like to work in the company to sustain their family, while some shared about their interest in the vehicles.

One of the students, Mr Sumit Karale, said that he had interest in four wheeler as well as the two wheeler, and it was a great opportunity to learn more. He was grateful to have such foundations who come forward to show their concern towards youth to build their careers.

Ishanya Foundation assured the students that they would visit them, and would support them in their career choices.
