by Father Kenneth Pereira for BISMumbai

Teachers’ Day was celebrated on 04 September 2021 in Don Bosco School and Junior College, Nashik to acknowledge the dedication of the teachers to the overall development of their students. A grand function was held in the Parish Hall at 9.30 am to honour the teachers. The function was meticulously organized by the PTA members and the management to felicitate the educators who shape the destiny of the young in their care. The programme was hosted by the Vice President of PTA, Mrs. Nisha Namjoshi and the Rector, Fr. Royal. Our principal, Fr. Cedrick, graced the occasion with his presence. The teachers of the school and Junior College, non-teaching staff, a few parents and the participating students attended the function.

The programme commenced with lighting of the lamp and garlanding the portraits of Dr. S. Radhakrishnan and St. Mother Teresa followed by a prayer service. Miss Tanvi Namjoshi of Std X enthralled everyone with her dazzling dance. Miss Khushi Chandiramani gave an impressive speech to express her feelings for the teachers and to let them know how grateful the students are for the efforts they have been taking to educate them especially amidst the pandemic. A PTA member, Mrs. Jennifer Louis, entertained the gathering with her heart throbbing dance performance. Another PTA member, Mrs. Sukmeet Dhillon, appreciated the efforts put in by the teachers to face the challenges imposed by the pandemic in her address. The teachers, with grace and elegance, did catwalk like super models. The Junior College Commerce students did a commendable job as anchors.

The PTA members presented gifts to the management and the entire teaching and non-teaching staff after the cake cutting ceremony. The students of Std V made the atmosphere even more charming and electrifying with their mesmerizing dance performance. A speech of gratitude was delivered by teacher Kalpana, appreciating the trouble taken by the management, the PTA members and the students to arrange a magnificent programme for Teachers’ Day. The entire programme was applauded by everyone present and will always remain a cherished memory in everyone’s heart.
