Naigaon, July 9, 2025: Don Bosco High School and Junior College, Naigaon, held its Investiture Ceremony for the academic year 2025–2026, marking the formal installation of the newly elected student council for both the school and college sections. The event also honoured top-performing students for their academic achievements. This year’s theme, Nurturing Growth, reflected the institution’s commitment to Don Bosco’s educational values of kindness, compassion, and trust.
The ceremony began with a welcome song and the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. This was followed by a soulful prayer dance that set a serene tone for the day. The gathering included enthusiastic students, dedicated faculty, proud parents, and esteemed guests.
Fr Dominic Martis, Rector of the institution, addressed the assembly, drawing attention to the life and example of St Dominic Savio. He spoke of the saint’s virtues — purity, discipline, and devotion — and encouraged the students to model their lives on his example. “Dominic Savio was exemplary in his thoughts, words, and actions. Let him be a role model to each of you,” he said, urging students to strive for excellence with integrity.
The highlight of the event was the Oath-Taking Ceremony, where the newly elected student leaders solemnly pledged their responsibilities. In a proud moment for the school, SSC and HSC toppers were felicitated for their academic achievements. Of special mention were students who succeeded without the aid of private tuitions, a testament to their self-discipline and the school's supportive academic environment.
The presence of their parents added emotional weight to the celebration, making it a shared victory of perseverance and parental encouragement. A rousing speech was delivered by Gitanshu Rautroy, the SSC topper, whose journey of academic excellence inspired many in the audience.
The Principal, Fr. Anthony Fonseca, congratulated the council members and applauded the dedication of the toppers. “True leadership is rooted in service and empathy” he stated. He encouraged the newly appointed council to be role models.
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, acknowledging the tireless efforts of the organizing committee, the enthusiastic participation of students, and the unending support of the school management.
The Investiture Ceremony at Don Bosco High School and Jr. College, Naigaon, was not just a ceremonial event, but a celebration of student leadership, academic brilliance, and the nurturing spirit that defines the Bosco community.
