GC28 elects 03 new Sector Councillors; re-elects of the General Councillor for Formation & the Economer General for the 06-year period 2020-2026,

Father Ivo Nicholas Coelho has been re-elected for a 2nd term as General Councillor for Formation. Born on 15 October 1958 in Mumbai-India, Father Coelho made his 1st profession on 24 May 1977 in Yercaud-Tamil Nadu; his final profession on 24 May 1984 in Mumbai, and was ordained priest on 27 December 1987 in Panjim-Goa. He was former Mumbai Salesians' Provincial [INB] from 2002-2008, and was elected Councillor for Formation at GC27.

Father Miguel Angel Garcia has been elected General Councillor for Youth Pastoral. Born on 29 September 1967 in Madrid-Spain, Father Garcia made his 1st profession on 16 August 1986 in Mohernando; his final profession on 11 June 1994 in Arevalo, and was ordained priest on 05 April 1997 in Madrid. He served in Youth Ministry sector in his home Province of Spain-Madrid from 2003-2010, and in the Youth Ministry Department at the Generalate from 2010-2017. He was currently the Director of the Salesian College at Santander-Spain, at the time of his election at the GC28.

Father Gildásio Mendes dos Santos has been elected General Councillor for Social Communication. Born on 18 March 1963 in Conceição da Barra-Brazil, Father dosSantos made his 1st profession on 06 January 1984 in São Carlos; his final profession on 11 February 1990 in Campo Grande, and was ordained on 12 December 1992 in Rondonopolis. He was Provincial Delegate for Social Communication from 2004-2005 and once again from 2009-2015) in the BCG Province. Having served previously as Provincial of Brazil-Campo Grande [BCG], Father dosSantos was installed as Provincial of Brazil-Belo Horizonte [BBH] in February 2020.

Father Alfred Maravilla has been elected as General Councillor for Salesian Missions. Born in Silay City, Negros Occidental-Philippines on 31 July 1962, Father Maravilla completed his novitiate in Canlubang, and left as a missionary to Papua New Guinea, where he made final profession on 24 March 1988 in Gabutu. Ordained priest on 15 August 1992 in his hometown, he worked in the Missions Department at the Generalate from 2008-2017, and was currently the Superior of the Vice-Province of Papua New Guinea-Solomon Islands [PGS], at the time of his election at GC28.

Brother Jean Paul Müller has been re-elected for a 2nd term as Economer General. Born on 13 October 1957 in Grevenmacher-Luxembourg, Brother Muller his 1st profession on 15 August 1979 in Jünkerath and his final profession on 15 August 1984. He has participated in GC23, GC24 and GC26, and was part of the GC27 pre-capitular commission. The then Rector Major, Father Pascual Chávez appointed Brother Müller as Economer General on 27 January 2011 and GC27 had confirmed his appointment.
