BIS #6317 Lenten Recollections at Salawad-Suket

by Father Xavier Bandya for BISMumbai

19 March 2021 was dedicated for reflection on the theme, “Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. He fasted forty days and forty night.” (Matthew 4:1-2)

Father Jerome Aruldas lead the parishoners of St. Michael's Salawad-Suket in this spiritual journey and to help them frequent the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Father Aruldas invited them to focus on scripture, reflecting on the aspects of fasting and praying. He asked the people to take up the cross with Jesus and not be afraid to fulfil the obligation which the Church is asking during this Lenten Season.

21 March 2021, was set aside for the catechism children to prepare themselves spiritually and to partake joyfully in coming ‘Holy Week’.

Father Ashwin Mal, Coordinator of the Sunday School, along with all the catechists made this day very special for each and every child. Quoting many examples from Holy Scripture, from the lives of the Saints, and from the reality of the world, Father Mal invited the children to a journey of holiness. The talk was made lively with action songs and the influential stories of the young saints. He invited them to seek for the mercy of God through the Sacrament of Reconciliation, time for which was set aside.
