BIS #6484 Teacher of the 21st Century at Don Bosco Nashik

by Father Kenneth Pereira for BISMumbai

Don Bosco School and Junior College Nashik organised a seminar for its teachers on 04 October 2021, on the theme 'Teachers of the 21st Century'. The seminar began with a short prayer by Principal Father Cedrick Sankul to invoke God’s blessings. He also introduced the Rector-Father Royal D'abreo, who was welcomed with a beautiful bouquet.

Father Rector dwelt on “10 keys to be a good teacher,” encouraging the teachers to be good communicators, with precise instructions, and convincing the students through interesting lectures. He further invited the teachers to keep updated at all times and be creative in their teaching with use of technology. He also appealed to the teachers to be patient listeners and strive to connect real world experiences with the curriculum to enable the students be alert, active and enthusiastic. He concluded the seminar quoting, "What a teacher writes on the blackboard of life can never be erased."

A few teachers clarified their doubts that they face with regard to students and parents. Father Rector presented very pertinent solutions to all these doubts. A 'vote of thanks' ended the seminar.
