BIS #6650 Starting Afresh at DB Dakor
By Bro. Royston Colaco for BISMumbai
Don Bosco Gujarati Medium School, Dakor, began its academic year during the last week. Students of Classes 6 to 12 came to school on 13 June 2022. They were enthusiastic and excited to begin the new year.
On 16 June, the tiny tots from the Junior & Senior Kindergarten and the students from Classes 1 to 5 began the new scholastic year. A short welcome program was organised for the children. The Rector, Fr Pravin Makwana, welcomed the staff and students back to school after a relaxed and rejuvenating summer vacation. They were welcomed in the traditional way with sweets, flowers and the applying of ‘tilak’ on their foreheads.
The ‘Pravesh Utsav’ was held on 18 June. A beautiful prayer service was organised by the teachers to help the students begin the year by imploring God’s blessings. The Principal, Fr Elson Barretto, in his welcome address to the students urged them to make the best use of the facilities offered at the school and to grow to be productive, confident and compassionate members of a global society.
The teaching staff at Dakor are enthusiastic to begin yet another year, and are geared towards helping the students reach their potential.
