BIS #6728 Parents' Day at DB Parish, Borivali

By Mrs Vina Prabhu for BISMumbai

On 31 July 2022, Parents’ Day was celebrated on the theme ‘Values of Family’ at Don Bosco Parish, Borivli.

The programme commenced with the song ‘Lord I Need You’ followed by skits performed by the children giving an insight into the values of family and the importance of parents in their lives. The smaller kids performed action songs while the higher class students performed dances on popular Bollywood numbers. The energy and the electrifying performance by the students, set everyone’s feet tapping. A group of young catechists displayed their musical and singing skills by playing a live band for all the parents present for the programme.

Fr Solomon Rapol, the Rector and Parish Priest, acknowledged the efforts of everyone involved in the Sunday school ministry and invited the chief guest, Fr Matthew Coutinho to address the gathering. Fr Coutinho highlighted the two valuable gifts that parents give their children – roots and wings. Values in the form of roots that sustain us lifelong, and wings that allow us to fly and become wonderful human beings.

The eventful day concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs Jasmine Melvin George.
