BIS #6698 First Cooperators at DB Naigaon

By Mrs Sudha Pillai for BISMumbai

On 11 July 2022, the first Salesian Cooperators group at Don Bosco, Naigaon, was formed under the able guidance of Fr Diego Nunes, the Provincial Delegate for the Salesian Family.

Fr Nunes, briefed the members on the role and their responsibilities, the vision, mission and the global presence of this movement in the 133 countries the Salesians are present around the world. It is a vocation to live one’s life dedicated to God and the mission of Don Bosco.

The Salesian Cooperators are lay men and women, who dedicate themselves to the welfare of young people, and live guided by Don Bosco’s Salesian Spirit. The association was established in 1876 by Don Bosco along with Pope Pius IX. The mission of Salesian Cooperators is to live a good Catholic life and get people, especially the young closer to God. “It is not doing activities but being persons who are committed and dedicated to the mission of Don Bosco”, said Fr Nunes.

“Joining the Salesian Cooperators Movement gives me immense joy to dedicate my life to further the mission of Don Bosco and work for the marginalized young. It is a call given to me to nourish my spiritual life and to fulfil God's plan in my life”, said Mrs Judy Valladares, a Salesian Cooperator from Don Bosco, Naigaon.
