St. Dominic Savio High School celebrated its Annual Thanksgiving & Felicitation Day on February 1 and 2, 2025, with immense joy and gratitude. The two-day event, themed "Vision with Heart," inspired by the Salesian Strenna "Dream That Makes You Dream," honoured excellence, appreciation, and togetherness. The celebrations also featured a musical extravaganza, "Dreams Alive, Hearts at Work," a theatrical production highlighting the transformative power of the Salesian mission in India.
The festivities began with a warm welcome to distinguished guests, including Fr Francisco Pereira, Rector and Manager, Principal Ms Valerie Mascarenhas, and esteemed Salesian dignitaries. The evening commenced with a soulful prayer dance by the pre-primary section, setting a reflective tone, followed by a melodious welcome song and dance by primary students. The Prize Distribution Ceremony recognized students for their academic excellence, leadership, and co-curricular achievements. The School Report presentation offered an inspiring glimpse into the institution’s remarkable progress and commitment to holistic education. A significant highlight was the presentation of a ₹6 lakh cheque—proceeds from the Christmas Fete—to support evening study classes, reinforcing the school’s mission to make education accessible to all.
Day two continued with equal enthusiasm, graced by Fr Gregory D’Almeida, Provincial Economer, as Chief Guest. The school honoured its retired staff members, acknowledging their years of dedicated service and lasting contributions. Their presence and words of wisdom were deeply cherished by the audience. The grand musical production, "Dreams Alive, Hearts at Work," was the centerpiece of both days, blending dance, drama, and music to narrate the inspiring journey of the Salesians in India. From establishing orphanages in Tamil Nadu to peace-building in Assam, skill development in Goa, and education initiatives in Punjab and Maharashtra, the play showcased the enduring impact of the Salesian mission.
The celebrations concluded on a high note, leaving everyone inspired and uplifted. Principal Ms Valerie Mascarenhas extended heartfelt gratitude to the dignitaries, faculty, students, and parents for their contributions in making the event truly unforgettable. The Annual Thanksgiving & Felicitation Day stood as a grand tribute to dedication, gratitude, and excellence—a celebration that will be cherished for years to come!
