by Cleric Sanket Chauhan for BISMumbai

The 2nd wave of COVID-19 has wisened the teachers, parents and pupils to gear up, and be 'academic' battle-ready to withstand the onslaught of the 3rd wave, as predicted by experts. Preparations have been initiated by the staff and management at Don Bosco Chhotaudepur to reach out virtually to the students, in various ways, especially through ZOOM and other online platforms.

Rector Father George Carlos interacted with the staff and principal, as the teachers go through the training programme to access the online modules. Principal-Shri Ishwar Dabhi welcomed Father Carlos, reminiscing how as a pioneer, Father Carlos followed up the school and the institution from its inception. He said, "it is fortunate to have Father Carlos as the Rector of the institution, and it is our hope that this time around too, Don Bosco Chhota will stride on into the future with flying colours, with him at the helm." Father Carlos addressed the staff, warmly encouraging to continue to adjust to the new normal through the means of online classes and virtual activities, focussing on the aspect of Salesian presence and the Salesian educative method of the preventive system.

Later in the day, the solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the patron feast of the Missionaries Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, based at Aradhana Sadan was celebrated with a solemn Eucharist and sumptuous lunch. Father Carlos presided at the Ecuharist and expressed gratitude for the 46 years of social ministry the nuns have rendered among the Rathwa people, since 1975, collaborating with the Salesians. Prayers were offered for special graces, in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
