BIS #6643 The Students are Back!
By Mrs Christy Jagdish for BISMumbai
Don Bosco High School, Matunga, reopened for the new academic year on 15 June 2022. There was an air of excitement as the students came back to school and met friends and teachers after the summer break.
Mrs Griselda Fernandes, the Head Teacher, warmly welcomed the students and teachers to the new academic year. Videos and presentations were exhibited in their respective classrooms to make the students feel loved and special. Ronan Vaz, the Captain of the Primary Section, quipped, “I am glad that the school reopened and I am excited to meet my friends and teachers.” “I was eagerly waiting for the school to reopen so that I could play on the school playground with my friends, but I truly miss Fr Bernard Fernandes,” said Eric Saldanha, a student of Class VII.
The young Boscoites of Class I stepped into the School for their first day on 17 June 2022. These little lads were affectionately welcomed by their class teachers in their classrooms. Orientation for parents followed after class, during which basic guidelines that ought to be followed throughout the year for an effective teaching and learning process were laid out.
Thus, with much fervour and enthusiasm, the Don Bosco family at Matunga is geared up as they begin their new academic year under the guidance and leadership of their new principal, Fr Crispino D’Souza.
