BIS #6583 DBCL Don Bosco Marathon 2022

Don Bosco Centre for Learning Kurla has begun its annual college fest Hysteria. A special event ‘Don Bosco Marathon’ was held on Saturday 12 February 2022. A 4.5 km run that brought DBCL students, well-wishers and Kurla west police together to ‘Run for a Cause’.
The participants assembled at 06.00 am in the morning for registration and to collect their chest numbers. The marathon began at 07.00 am. There were altogether 408 participants who were divided into six categories they are as follows; DBITI, DBCL boys, DBCL girls, Open category male, Open category Female and police. Along the way volunteers guided the participants to follow the correct route. On the way provisions were made for drinking water, First-Aid and an ambulance. There was a good competitive spirit among all categories. It was such an excitement to see athletes nearing the finish line with a very close gap. The income collected is utilized to provide bedsheets and stationaries for two NGOs looking after orphan children.
The winners from each category were presented Gold, Silver & Bronze medals. In his speech, Mr. Rajiv Shivajirao Chauhan-Senior Inspector, Vinoba Bhave police station Kurla West, encouraged students to keep their focus on fitness as it is a way to healthy life both physically and intellectually.
Fr. Joseph Braganza and the core team of DBCL students coordinated the event successfully.
