BIS #7553 Thanksgiving Prayer Service – A Celebration of Gratitude and Blessings
by Namrata Godetti for BIS Mumbai
The Thanksgiving Service, marking the end of the academic year, was held on April 11, 2025 in the Parish Hall. It was a momentous occasion, bringing together students, staff, and school management in a spirit of gratitude, celebration, and heartfelt farewells. The event provided an opportunity to thank the Lord for His abundant blessings and the smooth functioning of the school throughout the year and to pray for a peaceful, restful vacation.
The programme began with a warm welcome to the distinguished members of the school management: Rector Fr Royal; Principal Fr Rixson; Fr Panna Singh; Fr Nelson; and Fr Felix. Their presence added grace and meaning to the occasion. The celebration began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing wisdom, purity and divine blessing. This was followed by a solemn prayer service and a heartfelt prayer song, during which the entire school community offered thanks to the Almighty for His constant guidance and protection.
As part of the reflection, students watched an inspirational video emphasizing the importance of recognizing their talents as gifts from God. The message encouraged them to use these abilities purposefully and positively.
Fr Royal addressed the gathering with heartfelt wishes for a restful and joyful vacation. He encouraged the students to remain steadfast in their values and continue following the path of integrity throughout the holidays. Fr Rixson shared reflections on the academic year, emphasizing the core values of gratitude, resilience, and unity. He urged students to treasure their learning and growth and to carry these lessons forward with confidence and purpose.
A special note of appreciation was extended to the school management for their dedicated service and guidance, especially those transitioning to new vocations. Their contributions have left a lasting impact on the school.
Fr Felix and Fr Nelson, who have been instrumental spiritual leaders, were bid a heartfelt farewell. They were presented with gifts as tokens of gratitude, and their touching farewell messages stirred emotions among the audience.
As students and staff prepared for the holidays, the mood was one of joy, reflection, and appreciation for the shared journey. It was a memorable day, celebrating not only the end of the school term but also the enduring bonds of community, faith, and love.
Following the Thanksgiving celebration, a professional development seminar was organized for the teaching staff. Conducted by Mrs Priyadarshini, a dynamic Master Trainer, the seminar focused on behavioral and soft skills, leadership development, and practical teaching strategies, providing valuable insights to enhance classroom effectiveness.
