BIS #6918 Annual Day at DBITI Kurla

The 58th Annual Day of the Don Bosco Industrial Training Institute (DBITI), Kurla, was celebrated on 26 March 2023. 

The day was packed with various cultural events and project exhibitions by the trainees. The program began with the guests, parents, and guardians visiting the Exhibition Halls, which showcased the projects done by the trainees based on their trades. 45 projects were displayed for the exhibition. Some projects were based on emerging technology like Arduino, where the trainees learned about coding. The cultural program showcased the singing, dancing, drama, and other talents of the trainees.

The event was graced by various dignitaries, including Mr Amrit Pal Singh Gandhi - Vice President of Daikin India, Mr Vinod Noronha - Chairman Institute Management Committee of DBITI, and Mr Amarr Prabhu - Principal - DBITI. 

The Rector, Fr Anthony Pinto, welcomed the guests and appreciated the efforts put in by the trainees and staff for the project and cultural program. Mr Prabhu, gave an annual report, mentioning the achievements of the trainees and the Institute. He mentioned the scholarships offered by Mahindra & Mahindra for around 140 trainees. Honorable mentions during the prize distribution were the students who had won accolades: Mr Vikas Jadhav & Mr Rupesh Sharma who stood 1st and 2nd at the National Level Trade Test in the 2 & 3 Wheeler trade, the state level rank holders Mr Osmond Rodrigues stood second in the Plumber trade, Mr Harsh Patil stood 2nd in the Auto Body Paint and Mr Rafiq Shaikh who stood third in the 2 & 3 Wheeler trade. 

Mr Gandhi, the Chief Guest, appreciated the efforts put in by the trainees and felt that the projects displayed were innovative, and he emphasized the importance of safety. He urged the trainees to focus on being entrepreneurs rather than just aiming for placements. 

The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr Thomas Nadar, thanking the dignitaries and the gathering present for the memorable event. The annual day celebrations of the Don Bosco ITI, Kurla, were a grand success, leaving a lasting impression on all the guests and trainees.
