BIS #6386 'Marian Month' inaugurated at Don Bosco Chhotaudepur

by Cleric Sanket Chauhan for BISMumbai

Don Bosco always held the devotion to Mother Mary closest to his heart. He exhorted his boys to keep faith in her and experience miracles through her intercession. He instilled in his boys the reverence and love for Mary through various activities, of which the celebration of the 'Marian Month' is a time-honoured Salesian tradition.

Following this tradition Don Bosco Chhotaudepur inaugurated the Marian Month with a festal Eucharist at Fatehpura. Rector and Parish Priest-Father George Carlos shared his personal 'Marian' experience during the homily and exhorted everyone to have firm faith in her, saying, "Mary is always by our side even in the most difficult moments, if only we approach her with child-like faith, requesting her to intercede for us."

Post-inauguration, a 'youth-meeting' was organised by Father Jerome Aruldass to plan the calendar of the 'Marian Month' activities. The highlights of the Marian Month are: Sharing and reflection by young people, during the novena, animated Rosary, Marian Quiz, Marian Games, Marian Nite and other activities to help everyone come closer to the Blessed Mother.

The Marian Month at Chhotaudepur holds great significance since the culmination of the Marian Month is also the Parish Feast of ‘Muktidayini Mata.’
