BIS #6266 Don Bosco School Salawad-Suket celebrates Don Bosco

by Father Xavier Bandya for BISMumbai

The Don Bosco School management and staff grabbed a beautiful occasion to honour St John Bosco at Salawad-Suket on 30 January 2021. The theme for the day was Don Bosco’s motto, “Give me souls and take away the rest."

A short prayer service began the proceedings with one of the students, Simran, requesting everyone to feel God’s presence in their midst, and inviting all to invoke the Holy Spirit. Then, Manager-Father Gregory D’Cunha, Principal-Father Ashwin Mal, and 02 Students - Princy and Manish lit the lamp, with a prayer to keep the flame alive in each heart. A prayer dance 'Yeshu Naam' was presented by the girls, followed by intercessory prayers and a speech by Father D'Cunha. He invited the young students to "hold on to the hope, which God assures everyone during and after the pandemic."

The teachers and staff then organised varied relay games and tournaments, under the guidance of Father Mal. The lively animated games with a snack-break ended with a vote of thanks. The day of rejoicing, shouting, running, playing and praying in honour of Don Bosco came to an end fuelled by hope!
