By Fr Daresh Rathwa for BISMumbai

The Oath Ceremony for the newly elected leaders was solemnly held at Don Bosco Piloo Mody High School, Narukot, on 6 July 2022.

The feast day of St Dominic Savio, which falls on 6 May is usually celebrated on 6 July in the institutions of the Province of Bombay, as this is a convenient date to celebrate this teenage saint with the students due to the Academic Year.

After a prayer service in honour of St Dominic Savio, the investiture ceremony for the leaders of the school commenced. The leaders were instructed about their responsibilities and the meaning of the oath they were about to take. The elected candidate then took the oath to be faithful to the spirit of Don Bosco as they help in guiding the institution to greater heights.

The Chief Guest for this occasion was Bro. Jerome Mendonca, and the Guest of Honour was the Manager, Fr Stanny Ferreira. After the investiture ceremony, Bro. Mendonca gave a short message to all the leaders. He spoke of the need for leaders who have a clear vision for our country. He encouraged all the children of the school to groom themselves to be good leaders in society. Fr Ferreira spoke on the importance of active leadership and the qualities of good leadership.

After the ceremony the Principal of the school Fr Daresh Rathwa thanked everyone who has made this day a memorable one. He said, “Leaders neither walk before or after, they accompany and walk side by side".
