Shelter Don Bosco organized a fun picnic for the Mela Boys on 26 May which turned out to be a rainy day, but that didn’t stop the excitement and fun of the picnic. Around 60 boys from the streets joined the trip to Boscowadi, Uttan. The group left Shelter at around 7:30 in the morning after having a small snack. They reached Boscowadi by 10:00 AM and were ready for a day full of fun and relaxation.
As soon as they arrived, the boys were served a tasty breakfast of misal pav. After eating, many of the boys jumped straight into the swimming pool where they played pool games, splashed around, and had a great time in the water. Some of the other boys explored the area and enjoyed indoor games like chess, UNO, carrom, and badminton. Everyone was happy to be away from the busy city and spend time with friends.
By afternoon, it was time for lunch. The boys were served a delicious meal of chicken curry and rice. After a tiring and fun-filled morning, everyone enjoyed the meal and felt full and satisfied. Some of the boys took a short nap after lunch, while others continued playing games and chatting with each other. In the evening, tea and snacks were served. The boys gathered together and shared laughs and stories about their day. Before leaving, Gracy gave a special thank-you to Father Rudolf for planning the picnic. She also thanked all the staff members of Boscowadi who helped with the arrangements and made sure everything went smoothly.
The group left Boscowadi around 5:00 PM and headed back to Shelter. Even though it rained all day, the boys didn’t let the weather spoil their fun. They returned feeling happy, refreshed, and grateful for the chance to enjoy a day out. The picnic was a wonderful break from daily life. It gave the Mela Boys time to relax, play, and spend quality time with each other in a peaceful place. Everyone had a great time, and the memories from the trip will stay with them for a long time.
