BIS #6345 New Academic Year inaugurated at Don Bosco Dakor
by Father Ajay Shelke for BISMumbai
The Don Bosco Dakor campus inaugurated the English and Gujarati Medium Schools on 07 June 2021, with a token ceremony. As the COVID-19 surge continues unabated, the new academic year commenced online.
The Don Bosco English Medium School began the new academic year with an inaugural prayer service at 10am, with the participation of the entire staff and management. Principal Father Ajay Shelke addressed the teachers urging that they make renewed efforts to improve the quality of teaching so that the students can benefit from this online education in the best manner possible. The teachers then felicitated Father Pravin Makwana, the newly appointed Rector. They also welcomed Parish Priest Father Elson Barretto and Administrator Brother Royston Colaco, the new members on the management team.
Don Bosco Gujarati Medium School rang in the new academic year through the singing of melodious bhajans and the reading of the Word of God. After the lighting of the lamp, the teachers welcomed the new management team. Rector-Principal Father Makwana said, “Through our education we have to bring God’s love and joy to those in greatest need, especially to the young and the poor.” A 02-minute silence was observed to honour the memory and pray for the repose of Vipul Patel, a committed teacher who succumbed to COVID-19 a few days ago.
The entire staff, management and other ancillary staff are all eager and enthusiastic to commence the new academic year with renewed commitment.
