BIS #7206 Illuminating the Path of Leadership and Service in the Savio Way

On July 5th, 2024, Don Bosco School and Junior College, Nashik celebrated the feast of Saint Dominic Savio with a solemn investiture ceremony. The event marked a significant milestone in the school's history, as the students were entrusted with leadership roles and responsibilities.
The ceremony commenced with a prayer service led by Teacher Ashoo Verma, who invoked God's blessings on the students and the school community. The carefully chosen words of the prayer resonated through the auditorium, setting a tone of reverence and purpose for the proceedings to follow. The atmosphere was filled with joy and enthusiasm as the students, parents, and staff gathered in the school auditorium.
Community members and previous years' leaders then participated in the lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the ignition of leadership qualities in the students. This time-honored tradition served as a powerful visual metaphor, reminding all present of the enlightening nature of leadership and the responsibility that comes with it.
Father Royal D' Abreo, the Manager, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of leadership, teamwork, and service to others. His words carried the weight of experience and wisdom, inspiring the young leaders to embrace their roles with humility and determination. Father D' Abreo spoke of the challenges and rewards of leadership, encouraging the students to lead by example and to always consider the greater good of their community.
The newly elected school cabinet members were then called forward to receive their flags and badges. Each student stepped up with a mix of nervousness and pride, ready to accept the mantle of leadership. The student council, comprising the School Captain, Vice Captain, Sports Captain, and House Captains, took an oath to uphold the values of the school and discharge their duties with integrity and dedication.
The Principal, Father Rixson Nigrel, thanked and appreciated the outgoing school cabinet for their contributions to the school's growth and development. He highlighted specific achievements and initiatives led by the previous council, acknowledging their hard work and dedication. This gesture not only recognized past efforts but also set a high bar for the incoming leaders. Father Nigrel then turned his attention to the new student council, encouraging them to serve with passion and commitment. He spoke of the Savio way – a path of leadership rooted in kindness, diligence, and unwavering faith.
