Don Bosco Academy, Alirajpur in Madhya Pradesh hosted its first formal meeting of the Don Bosco Alumni in a hybrid mode, on July 24, 2025 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Zoom along with offline participation, bringing together former students from across India and abroad. The meeting marked a significant step towards strengthening ties between the institution and its alumni.
The event opened with a moment of prayer to set a reflective tone. A series of video presentations followed, featuring highlights of the previous year’s alumni activities, the newly constructed Past Pupils Room, and the academy’s facilities. These visuals evoked a sense of nostalgia and pride among the participants.
The keynote address was delivered by Mr Ketan Gala, Regional Councillor – Asia Oceania, Executive Committee Member – World Confederation (1983 Batch), who emphasized the importance of unity, consistent engagement, and collaborative efforts in building a strong alumni network. He encouraged former students to contribute actively to the continued growth and mission of the institution.
A key segment of the meeting was the Annual General Body Meeting (AGBM), during which important topics such as Life Membership, networking opportunities with institutions across India, and the election criteria for Office Bearers were discussed. Matters related to eligibility, nominations, and voting procedures were also deliberated upon.
The session was coordinated by Tr Shubhra, with the support of Sir Amjad and Tr Shabnam, mentors of the Don Bosco Alumni group. Their teamwork contributed to the smooth and effective conduct of the meeting.
Dignitaries and alumni holding administrative positions in various parts of the country, as well as international participants, joined the session online. To enhance participation in future events, a large interactive panel was recently installed at the venue.
In his concluding address, Fr Charlin, Principal of Don Bosco Academy, expressed his gratitude for the enthusiastic participation and reiterated the value of alumni engagement in the life of the institution.
The meeting concluded with reflections from several alumni, who shared heartfelt memories and practical suggestions. Their words underscored the enduring bond they continue to share with their alma mater.
This first hybrid alumni meeting marks a significant milestone in the journey of the Don Bosco Alumni of Alirajpur, opening new avenues for collaboration, support, and lifelong connection.
