BIS #5907 DON BOSCO SEAWOODS - NERUL REACHES OUT WITH RELIEF AID

Under the guidance of Father Barnabe D’souza-Manager Don Bosco School Society Seawoods-Nerul, an outreach programme has been initiated by the DBSS Nerul to support those in need during the Covid-19 pandemic. This programme aims to provide basic ration of rice, pulses, condiments, oil and toiletries to the underprivileged people in Seawoods - Nerul node.

The programme was flagged off on 31 March 2020 by Senior Police Inspector Shri Tanvir Sheikh (NRI-Police Station) and his team. 2000kg of rice, 1000kgof dal and other essentials were distributed. On 01 April 2020, few staff members along with Shri Palshikar of CIDCO distributed ration kits to the security personnel of the neighbourhood societies. Ration was also distributed to the school ancillary by the Principal Father Donald Fernandez. On 02 April 2020, 500kg of rice and 200 kg of dal was donated towards ‘The Food Relief Programme’ organised by the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Shri Chabukswar. The school also reached out to the disadvantaged school parents. In coordination with Shri Shivraj Patil (Navi Mumbai Police, HQ), on 04 April, 600kg of rice and 200kg of dal was packed for 300 families and handed over to the police team for distribution to the slum-dwellers in Navi Mumbai.

Father D’souza said, "under the spiritual guidance of Don Bosco, our entire team will continue its effort to ensure that no one goes to bed hungry, as far as possible."
