The second year students of the Bachelor's in Philosophy [SYBPh] programme at Divyadaan-Salesian Institute of Philosophy at Nashik, organised a hour and a half afternoon symposium 'Culture: Its Impact and Preservation', on 14 December 2020. A short animated prayer service began the proceedings, after which, the symposium moderator, Senbern Fernandes, OFM Cap., welcomed and introduced the audience.

Samson Ribeiro SDB, spoke on 'Origin, Beauty of Culture and How it Influences One’s Thoughts'. Shaun Fernandes SDB, presented his views on 'The Impact of Culture from Various Perspectives', such as; westernization, globalization, migration and technology. Charles Raji SDB, responded to the earlier speakers, listing the ways in which culture could be preserved and promoted.

Following the presentations, the audience discussed and clarified issues arising out of the presentations. The open-floor discussion raised many queries, especially on the complexity of 'culture' and the understanding of 'tradition', promptly answered by the speakers. SYBPh president Mebanteilang Lyngdoh SDB, proposed the 'vote of thanks', bringing the exciting afternoon of reflection and understanding, to an end.
