Don Bosco School, Narukot, celebrated its 33rd Annual Sports Day, themed The Dream That Makes You Dream, with great zeal and enthusiasm. The event, held on November 30, 2024, brought together students, teachers, and parents for a day filled with sports competitions, displays, dances, and fun activities.

The day commenced with the Scouts escorting Mr Sailesh Dargi, a pioneer teacher of Don Bosco School, Chhotaudepur, and Father Elson Barretto, Rector of Don Bosco Narukot. The vibrant opening ceremony included a march past by the students and Scouts, followed by a welcome speech by Father Barretto, who introduced the Chief Guest, Mr Dargi. Father Barretto commended Mr Dargi for his dedication and loyalty to Don Bosco, highlighting his impactful contributions, especially to the Rathwa tribal students, helping them discover and express their talents on the field.

In his address, Mr. Dargi expressed gratitude to Don Bosco for the opportunity to teach and help students excel. He particularly thanked Father Barretto for appointing him as the first Physical Education Teacher at Don Bosco School, Chhotaudepur. Reflecting on his tenure, he said it was an eye-opener, teaching him invaluable lessons and affirming his belief that Don Bosco had called him to serve in the institution.

The ceremony also featured a graceful prayer dance by the students. Following this, the sports competitions began, featuring track and field events, team sports, and fun games. The students exhibited outstanding sportsmanship and teamwork throughout.

One of the day's highlights was a mass drill performed by students from various classes. Their synchronised routine, accompanied by energetic music, showcased precision, coordination, and teamwork, earning applause from the audience. Another notable performance was a dance themed on athletes and pyramids, symbolising the importance of a solid foundation.

The day concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, where winners received medals, certificates, and trophies. In his closing remarks, the Principal thanked everyone for their participation and support, congratulated the winners, and encouraged students to strive for excellence in all aspects of life.

The Sports Day at Don Bosco School, Narukot, was a resounding success, showcasing the students' athletic talents, teamwork, and sportsmanship, while underlining the importance of physical education.
