The Savion Family of St Dominic Savio Institute, Andheri, culminated a week-long celebration of its patron's feast with much pomp on 6 July 2022.

Fr Godfrey D’Sa, who celebrates the golden jubilee of his religious profession, was the principal celebrant for the Eucharist. The catholic students, parents, past pupils, co-operators, school staff and the neighbouring religious communities joined the feast day celebrations.

The novena in honour of St Dominic Savio began on 27 July 2022; each day an aspect of the Spiritual life of the young saint was highlighted. The School had a number of activities held for the students during these days: Drawing Competition, Palm Art, The Savio Quiz, Panel Discussion, skits and songs were specially organised for the occasion which geared them for the feast. The Boys’ Home organised the Savio week with similar festivity with the Savio Nite as the main highlight.

Mrs Valerie Mascarenhas, the Principal, remarking about the celebrations said: "There has been a joyous buzz around the feast day for a week now. It was wonderful to see the enthusiasm of students and staff, the joy of being a part of the Savion Family". Keizer Gonsalves, a boarder of the Boys’ Home shared, “I enjoyed myself to the full as this was my first ever experience of Dominic Savio! I learnt something new about this great saintly youngster.”

Surely, St Dominic Savio inspires young children who will always remember the saint with fondness.
