On August 2, 2025, the students of Grade 4 at St Dominic Savio High School, Andheri, presented a vibrant and value-filled assembly-cum-exhibition in the school’s A.V. Hall. With the theme “Anchored in Hope, Pilgrims with Young People – On the Path of Peace” and the sub-theme “Hope as a Daily Choice,” the event was a beautiful blend of creativity, compassion, and purpose.
The morning began with a moving skit titled “Hope: A Choice We Make Every Day.” Through the story of a struggling student, a supportive friend, and even an observant janitor, the message was clear: Hope isn’t just a feeling - it’s a choice. A radiant student portrayed “Hope,” gently reminding the audience that small, kind gestures can brighten the darkest moments. The performance ended powerfully with students holding placards that read: “I Choose Hope,” “You Are Not Alone,” and “Hope Lives Here.” Their final words - “We choose hope. Will you?”—resonated deeply, drawing heartfelt applause from all present.
Fr Franco Pereira - Rector and Manager, in his message, beautifully emphasized that hope is a decision we make each day. “It’s not about what we receive, but about what we choose to give,” he said. He encouraged students to use their head, heart, and hands to bring light to others. Fr Franco also expressed gratitude to the parents for their encouragement and acknowledged the dedicated efforts of the class teachers, head parents, and students.
Following the assembly, guests were invited to explore a thoughtful exhibition created by the Grade 4 students. The displays reflected the central theme and showcased projects on:
Giving hope to the community
Environmental conservation
Visiting old age homes and orphanages
Supporting families and friends
Disaster relief
Spreading hope through art and sports
Each project was thoughtfully designed with strong messages and colourful visuals. A behind-the-scenes video, prepared by the Grade 4 head parent, gave a glimpse into the students’ hard work and collaboration.
This special event was more than a school activity - it was a reminder that even the youngest among us can be anchors of hope, guiding others towards peace and purpose.
