BIS #6097 RE-ENERGIZING THE EARTH AT ST. JOSEPH'S WADALA

by Placida deSequeira Nazareth for BISMumbai

The new normal has put all the educational institutions on the online forum. Some are moving ahead with the reality doing the bare minimum, but it is not the same with the Josephites. With full support and encouragement from HeadMistress and Principal - Sangita Bhattacharya, and Rector-Manager, FatherJames Nigrel, the staff and students have explored fresh avenues and ventured into new horizons. The determination to excel has not stopped the Josephites from going live with the assemblies.

A training programme on videotaping and live steaming was conducted for the teachers, which later was shared with the students. The purpose was to create standard operating procedures before the best shots was taken. The entire course of action did bear fruit as the 'best take' was captured, with finesse. The live assembly this year revolves around the theme of 'Re-Energizing the Earth'. The students of ClassVII 'A' put on a splendid performance of song, dance and speech to bring home the message of the importance of 'Flora and Fauna'. This was made possible due to the efforts of Supervisor-Nagprabha Rao, and Pavita Fernandes.

Together with the academic intelligence, the students are conscientised about their social responsibility towards 'our common home'. This paves the way for the students to remain rooted in moral values and unleash their talents in caring for the environment. St. Joseph's High School, Wadala takes pride in rejuvenating the spirits of the students by creating an ambience that encourages learning with daily life praxis, thus creating miniature agents of social change. It is hoped that the small ripples of today reach far and wide in due time, bringing about an evolution of a new environment friendly world.
