A Medical Health Camp was organized by Liferay Health Center at St Dominic Savio School, Andheri (E), Mumbai for about 160 people of the locality on 19 June 2022. The camp began in the morning with a live cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) session, afterwhich the various testings began with around 15 medical staff on site.

The idea for a Medical Health Camp came from Mr Jimmy Matthew and Dr Ajay Singh, members of the A-league Sporting Club, when recently they started losing their colleagues and friends to various illnesses. “As recent as 2 weeks back,” says Dr Ajay, “we lost our young friend, aged 38, to a massive hemorrhage due to high blood pressure, which he never knew he had.” According to the organizers, the goal of this camp was to make people aware of their medical health status which they so conveniently avoid. A simple suggestion by Dr Ajay for everyone out there to avoid medical problems is diet modification coupled with regular exercise.

Mr Matthew expressed gratitude towards Fr Brian Moras and Fr Shekhar Mariadas who played a vital role in setting up the camp. “Today, not many people are so supportive towards such initiatives. They literally opened the gates for us,” said Mr Jimmy.
