BIS #6567 Dominic Savio Andheri COVID-19 vaccination camp for students

All can agree that one of the big fallouts of the COVID-19 pandemic is the education of children. Though schools with their individual limitations, have risen to the times over this period with alternative online options, there are aspects of physical schooling that cannot be replaced in virtual settings. Schools have seen multiple attempts to reopen physically and then have had to shut again fearing for the safety of the children and community.

With the vaccines promising to help in this scenario and in an attempt to give the eligible students a comfortable and familiar setting, a COVID-19 Vaccination Camp was held at St. Dominic Savio High School (Andheri) for students in the age group of 15-18yrs on 22 January 2022. The camp was conducted by team MCGM and Project Mumbai on the school campus. The team comprised of doctors, nurses, data entry staff and an ambulance service.

Parents consenting to get their child vaccinated accompanied their children to the camp according to the assigned batches. The initiative was executed very well by the school and much appreciated by parents and team MCGM. Thanks to MCGM, Shishir Joshi and his Project Mumbai team for enabling student vaccination on campus.
