On June 14 2025, Don Bosco English Medium School, Chhotaudepur, came alive with joy and celebration as it hosted a heartwarming Father’s Day program. The theme for the occasion, “Papa, My Superhero,” beautifully captured the essence of a father’s role in a child’s life — one of strength, sacrifice, and unconditional love.

The celebration began on a vibrant note with a special welcome ceremony. Fathers were received with a ceremonial procession and greeted with roses by their children, symbolizing gratitude and affection. The simple gesture reflected the deep emotional bond between fathers and their children.

A brief but meaningful prayer service was conducted by Ms Kusum, the primary section coordinator, seeking divine blessings for all fathers present. The gathering then listened attentively as a pre-primary teacher delivered a touching address, highlighting the invaluable role of fathers as protectors, mentors, and role models in their children’s lives.

The program featured delightful cultural performances by students of Classes 3 and 4. Two energetic dance routines conveyed love and appreciation for fathers through expressive movement and joyful music. Fr Selvin, together with a team of enthusiastic teachers, organized a series of engaging party games for the fathers. It was a joy to witness the men — many of whom had likely not participated in such games in years — laugh heartily and show their playful side, cheered on by their children and other parents. The games brought everyone together in a spirit of lighthearted fun.

The most memorable part of the event was the special father-child dance. Fathers and children took to the stage in pairs, dancing together with great joy and enthusiasm. This unique activity truly stole the show, reflecting the affectionate bond between generations. Special prizes were awarded to the most coordinated and enthusiastic pairs, adding a sense of achievement and delight.

As the event drew to a close, Fr Selvin expressed sincere gratitude to all the fathers for making time to attend and for participating so wholeheartedly. He also commended the staff for their meticulous planning and hard work in making the event a grand success.

The celebration concluded with the distribution of sweets to all attendees, leaving everyone with happy hearts and cherished memories. Many fathers personally thanked the school management and staff, expressing how deeply touched they were by the warm hospitality and thoughtfulness shown throughout the day.
