BIS #6485 Father Michael Gaikwad: Lonavla-Cambodia-Lonavla
by Gladnick Baa with Cleric Ambroise Monteiro
Father Michael Gaikwad, the newly ordained priest, had visited the aspirantate at Don Bosco Lonavla, and animated the monthly recollection for the aspirants.
Father Gaikwad arrived on 06 October, and was welcomed with a song by the boys. In the evening, He animated the recollection. He delved into the familiar passage of the ‘Wedding Feast at Cana’. He then explained the significant role Mary plays in each of the lives of her children. Finally, he spoke of the mission in Cambodia describing the people, the culture and its history.
After the recollection the boys felicitated Father Gaikwad. Many good wishes were bestowed upon him especially as he has embarked on his journey as a Salesian priest, and as a missionary to bring God’s love to the people.
The following morning, he celebrated the Holy Eucharist. During the homily, he shared his thoughts on vocation and willingness to do God's will in one's life.
Surely, it all began for Father Gaikwad here at Lonavla where he entered as a boy. It is indeed a proud moment for us all that he has returned as a priest: an inspiration of humility and service.
