BGVK staff Peter Patole enumerated the various benefits of having an Open Stable, such as, less labour intensive, daily collection of cow urine (gomutra), collection of the cow dung once a month, good health of the cows, etc. This venture also serves as a model to encourage farmers to take it up in their villages. This open stable will also serve as a demonstration unit for the farmers. The collection of the cow dung and the cow urine (gomutra) will be used to prepare organic fertilizers and pesticides as a booster to increase the beneficial microorganisms in the soil.
