BIS #6528 MumbaiSalesians' Cooperators Lonavla Retreat

by Sudha Pillai for BISMumbai

The annual retreat of the MumbaiSalesians' Cooperators was organised at Don Bosco Lonavla on 20 and 21 November 2021. Don Bosco Savedi Rector-Father Richard D’silva, preached to the 46 retreatants from Gujarat, Ahmednagar, Pune, Mumbai and the Lonavla host unit.

Father D'silva focussed on 'Holiness in Daily Life'. He admonished the new trend which is percolating into our culture of being healthy physically and starving spiritually. He also dwelt on striking the right balance in life which is Christ-centric when one has to take up multiple roles in daily life.

The retreatants prayed with a candlelight rosary procession with a decade at the resting place of a few MumbaiSalesians. The retreatants were guided through a meditation in the early hours of the next day. Confessors were available to make the retreat a wholesome experience.

MumbaiSalesians' Cooperators' Provincial Delegate-Father Diego Nunes, explained the hierarchy and the structure in the Salesian Family. Many were surprised to know that there are 32 member groups in the Salesian family today.

Andheri Unit Coordinator Schlainne remarked, “The talks were truly inspiring." ADMA member Fatima Pabte said,“This was the first time I attended the guided meditation in a Salesian retreat."

Jacinta Dsouza thanked the Salesians of Don Bosco at Lonavla and the community for hosting the Cooperators and for the logistical arrangements.
