BIS #6001 FATHER BARNABE D'SOUZA INSTALLED AS 1ST RECTOR OF DON BOSCO NERUL

On the auspicious Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Don Bosco Nerul was given official recognition as a canonically erected Salesian community, along with the installation of it's 1st Rector Father Barnabe D'Souza.

Present for this occasion were Fathers Savio Silveira (MumbaiSalesians' Provincial), Manuel Murzello (MumbaiSalesians' Economer), and the entire community of Don Bosco Nerul that consists of Fathers Thomas Chalissery, Blaise Fernandes, Adolph Furtado, and Clerics Christopher Nadar and Rohan D’Souza.

During the ceremony, Father Provincial stressed the importance of unity in the community and the need for supporting the Rector to perform his responsibilities efficiently. In the end, he handed over the Rector’s Manual and the letter from the Rector Major approving the canonical erection of Don Bosco Nerul to Father D'Souza.

Post-installation, the 1st Rector's Conference was held innovatively through the online medium for the Salesians, school and college staff, and the social-development staff.
