BIS #6739 Monsoon Trek to Lohagad

By Cl. Joswin D’Souza for BISMumbai

The zestful and energetic youth of Sacred Heart Parish, Yerwada, participated in the monsoon trek to Lohagad fort and Malavli waterfalls on 8 August 2022. They were accompanied by Fr Evangelo D'souza and Cl. Joswin D'souza.

Situated at a height of 624 metres above sea-level, Malavli waterfalls attract the attention of many trekkers. Lohagad Fort is a hiker’s delight as it is around 1050 meters above sea-level.

The trekkers set out for the adventure early in the morning from Pune by local train. On reaching Malavli station, the youth trekked to the Malavli waterfalls. They enjoyed each other’s company as they headed to the Lohagad Fort. Though exhausted from climbing the fort, they enjoyed the scenic beauty of nature all around. After enjoying a delicious meal prepared by a family staying at the foot of the mountain, Fr D’Souza organised a group game which involved all the youth working together to accomplish the target.

The youth returned back in the evening after a refreshing time spent in the midst of nature.
