The Catholic Diocese of Ahmedabad's Proclamation Commission, headed by Bishop Athanasius Rethna Swamy is formed under the CCBI [Conference of Catholic Bishops of India] guidelines. Mumbai Salesians' Father Mayank Parmar, Parish Priest-Rector Don Bosco Kapadvanj and Director Amrutdhara Don Bosco, has been incorporated into the Ahmedabad Diocesan Commission for Proclamation. The primary focus of this commission is sharing the Good News to all, with new zeal, new methods and new expressions. The Commission, comprising Bishop Rethna Swamy, VicarGeneral Father Paresh Parmar, ICYM Ahmedabad Director Father Vikram Mahida and Father Mayank Parmar, held its 1st Zoom Meet in collaboration with UCPI [United Christian Prayer for India], on 11 August 2020.

The resource person for the initial meet, was Brother Arun Philip of the UCPI, briefed the commission of the UCPI vision, mission, need and urgency, biblical mandate, strategy, response and the plan for the diocese. Explaining UCPI vision, Philip said,"through united prayer and action as one body of Christ, it is our mission to proclaim the Good News wherever possible with 05 action steps: Pray for the Nation and Preach the Good News; adopt a district or area; hold envisioning meetings; organise prayer-days; and mobilize people to live and share the Good News." In response, Bishop Rethna Swamy congratulated Philip for this initiative and well chalked-out plan to reach the unreached. He further added, "the commission will further study and make concrete plans to collaborate with UCPI for the proclamation of the Good News." Tentatively future meets on 24-25-26 August will discuss further action.

Intervening during the meet, Father Parmar underscored the important aspect of 'educating to the faith', one of the primary dimensions under the Salesian Youth Ministry Frame of Reference [SYMFoR]. Quoting the MumbaiSalesians' efforts to educate the young to the faith, he invited the others to frame a similar plan in working out possibilities for youth-involvement as heralds, in this ministry of proclamation of the Good News.
