BIS #6393 Narukot COVID 'relief outreach' for 400 families & 100 frontliners

Don Bosco Narukot Education Society located in the Jambughoda Taluka of the Panchmahal District in Gujarat, caters to the predominantly indigenous Scheduled Tribes [ST] people in Narukot and other surrounding villages. The Don Bosco Technical Institute, Piloo Mody School, and the Socia Development Office, reach out to the poorest needy marginalised in the vicinity, most of whom are non-land owning agricultural labourers and livestock rearers.

In association with the MumbaiSalesians' Don Bosco Development Society [DBDS] - Province Development Office [PDO], the Salesians at Narukot helped distribute food-provisions and medical-health kits to 400 COVID-affected families in the different villages of the Jhambughoda Block. Likewise, safety-kits were also distributed to 100 COVID-frontline warriors.

This outreach, part of a larger Manos Unidas funded outreach to 13,000 poor and needy in Gujarat, was coordinated by Narukot Rector-Father Stanny Ferreira, with 02 social development staff, and a team of 08 outreach volunteers.
