On 26 June 2022, Bishop Lourdes Daniel formally inducted Fr Briston Britto as the Parish Priest of St Anne’s Church, Ahmednagar, at the Holy Eucharist in the presence of the Salesians and the Parishioners.

Bishop Daniel reflected on the role and the importance of a parish-priest in the parish. He then explained the relationship between the faithful and the parish priest. Being Laity Sunday, the Bishop spoke of the responsibilities of the laity in the church and in the faith formation. After the homily, Fr Britto was called upon to make his profession of faith in the presence of the Bishop.

After the profession of faith Bishop Daniel read the letter of appointment and handed it to Fr Britto. He then handed over the keys of the church to Fr Britto, thereby completing the induction of Fr Britto as the Parish Priest.

After the Holy Eucharist Mr Franklin Couttino behalf of Parish council members and the parishioners felicitated Bishop Daniel, Fr Britto and the concelebrants. The Bishop expressed his gratitude towards Fr Britto, the priests and the parishioners who were present, and thanked them for the welcome and the invitation. Lastly, Fr Britto addressed the assembly, and expressed his gratitude for having such a wonderful parish team. He expressed the hope that with the support and cooperation of the parishioners, St Anne’s would indeed become a vibrant parish.
