Matunga (Mumbai): The Sewing Machine & Professional Beauty Parlour Kit Distribution Ceremony was held on 7th June 2025 at the Audio-Visual Hall, Don Bosco Provincial House. The event was organized by Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS) and supported by AXA Global Business Services. The programs celebrated the achievements of women who have successfully completed skill training courses and are ready to start their entrepreneurial journey.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of Chief Guest- Fr Savio Silveira (Salesian Provincial).
The event began with a warm welcome by Fr George Miranda, who greeted the chief guest, trainers, and the trainees. He acknowledged their hard work and commitment throughout the training programs. This was followed by a short prayer marking the spiritual beginning of the celebration.
In his address Fr Savio Silveira congratulated all the women who successfully completed their courses. He urged them to take confident steps toward building their businesses using the resources provided. Fr Savio emphasized that economic empowerment is a key to fulfilling both personal and family goals. He also appreciated the dedication of the instructors, Ms. Snehal and Ms. Reena, whose efforts made this success possible.
After Fr Savio’s address, 30 ladies who completed the Fashion Designing Course were awarded sewing machine equipped with motors and another 30 ladies who completed the Beauty Care Course received beauty parlour kit that included essential tools and products.
The program concluded with vote of thanks, Fr George Miranda extended his heartfelt gratitude to Fr Edwin D'Souza (Rector of the Shrine) and Fr Vinod Mascarenhas (Rector of the Provincial House), for their constant support and encouragement. He also thanked the staff of the Provincial House for their assistance in organizing the event smoothly. A special note of appreciation was given to AXA Global Business Services for their continued partnership and generous support in empowering women through various initiatives under the Women Empowerment Project.
