BIS #6492 Holy Rosary month at Chhotaudepur

by Cleric Sanket Chauhan for BISMumbai

Our Heavenly Mother, the Queen of the Most Holy Rosary has promised us about her protection and love for all those who pray the Rosary devoutly. Don Bosco too always encouraged his young people to have devotion to our Blessed mother and believe that she would never fail them in any kind of need. On the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary on 7th October, the Salesians and the boarders in the House prayed the holy rosary at dusk in a well animated fashion and spent time in thanksgiving.

Muktidayini Mata Parish at Don Bosco Chhotaudepur in keeping with its tradition has been making family visits during this month of the Rosary. The visits to the houses of both the tribal and town catholics with a statue of our Blessed Mother have been bringing immense joy and peace to their families. The fathers and religious sisters pray and converse with the families on their visits. In each house there is an aarti that is done to the statue of Our Lady, and one of the fathers or sisters garlands the statue. Often, even a coconut is broken bringing alive the local tradition of the sweet blessing that a spiritual event brings.

After praying the rosary and singing Marian bhajans, a short homily and the final blessing is given by Deacon Chris Ferreira. Visiting the families for the Rosary is a great opportunity to interact with the family members, know the circumstances they live in, bring them consolation, and deepen greater bonds of friendship so as to also help them both emotionally and spiritually. Through our Lady, this month of October is indeed turning out to be a month of reaching to Jesus.
