BIS #6220 Christ the King Parish Dakor celebrates Kot Chapel feast
by Father Ajay Shelke for BISMumbai
Don Bosco used to tell his boys, “have faith in Mother Mary and you will see what miracles are.” Christ the King [Raj Rajeshwar] Parish Dakor, has different sub-centers with a sizable Catholic population, one of which is Kot. Our Lady of the Rosary chapel, built last year, with monetary support from benefactors in England, celebrated its festal anniversary on 03 November 2020.
Father Ajay Shelke presided at the solemn Eucharist, with Father Mathew Kattara and Father Pravin Makwana as concelebrants. The Sister Disciples [bhenjis] and the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians [FMA] put up the altar-decor and managed the choir, while catechist Raju Parmar ensured a meaningful liturgical animation.
In the homily, Father Shelke dwelt briefly on the history of the Rosary, its importance, how it came to existence, and its miraculous efficacy in the lives of various people. He also said, "Don Bosco was totally dependent on the Holy Rosary. We need to imbibe this practice of daily Rosary recitation in our families, to help firmly rooted in the faith."
The simple people of Kot participated in the liturgical festivity with great devotion and faith, seeking the intercession of Mother Mary, pledging to be good Catholics and responsible citizens with generous hearts.
