BIS #6053 "MARY GUARDIAN OF OUR HOPE," SAYS DIVYADAAN NASHIK

by Cleric Ethan Fortes for BISMumbai

Amidst the coronavirus pandemic, the community of Divyadaan re-ignited their special devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary by inaugurating the Marian Month. The theme for this year is ‘Mary, Guardian of our Hope’, reflecting and responding to the signs of the times. Mary has been the guardian of our hope all throughout history; however, her role has added a greater significance in the present times when people have been losing hope over finding a cure for the COVID-19.

The inauguration began with a solemn Eucharistic celebration at 6:30pm presided over by Rector-Father Banzelao Teixeira, along with the other priests in the community. In the homily, he spoke of Mary being the symbol of hope in our lives, especially in times of trouble. He also urged the community to be missionaries of hope to the young people in these horrid times. A small prayer service was held after the Mass to inaugurate the Marian Month. Over the course of the month, the community will gear itself to deepen their devotion to Mary, the Mother of our Lord, through a plethora of activities and games.
