Don Bosco institutions across various locations celebrated Children's Day in November 2024, commemorating the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru with diverse programs and activities that emphasized the importance of nurturing young minds.

At Don Bosco School and Junior College, Nasik, celebrations were held across two days (13th and 14th November) to accommodate different grade levels. The event began with traditional lamp lighting and garlanding of Pt. Nehru's portrait. Teachers presented cultural performances including dances, songs, and skits. The celebration was enhanced by the Don Bosco Business Bonanza, an entrepreneurship initiative where students from grades V to XII managed their own business stalls, gaining practical experience in business operations.

Don Bosco High School, Yerwada, commenced its celebration with a guard of honour. The program included a lamp-lighting ceremony and teacher performances. A notable feature was the skit "The Kingdom of Laughter." Fr. Crispino shared ten essential qualities children should embody, including spontaneity, innocence, and creativity.

Don Bosco Hostel Chinchwad organized team-based games and activities that fostered camaraderie among youth from diverse backgrounds. Fr. Bosco D'Mello and his team coordinated events that included music, creative games, and prize distributions. The celebration concluded with sponsored snacks and a Hindi film screening.

Don Bosco Community Care Centre, Prayas Kendra in Borivali, hosted over 110 children from nearby slum areas. The evening featured singing and dancing competitions judged by Fr. Akhil and Fr. Evangelo. Students performed "Jab Koi Baat Bigad Jaaye," while church children presented a Bollywood dance. Fr. Diego's solo performance and Mr. Sunil's sponsorship of snack boxes added to the celebration's success.

Across all institutions, the celebrations emphasized Nehru's vision that "children are the future of the nation and deserve love, care, and protection." The events featured common elements such as cultural performances, motivational speeches, and special treats for students. Management teams, including rectors, principals, and teachers, actively participated in making the celebrations memorable.

The celebrations reflected the Salesian mission of holistic development while providing platforms for student talent, teacher-student bonding, and community building. Through these events, Don Bosco institutions demonstrated their commitment to nurturing young minds and creating positive learning environments that combine education with enjoyment.

Each celebration, while unique in its execution, shared the common goal of recognizing children's potential and reinforcing their role in shaping India's future. The events successfully brought together students, teachers, and management in celebrating the spirit of childhood and the importance of education in character building.
