BIS #7218 Learners Today ... Leaders Tomorrow

On the occasion of the feast of St. Dominic Savio, Don Bosco English Medium School, Savedi, Ahmednagar, took the initiative to establish the School Student Council, with the vision of fostering the overall development of children into responsible citizens of the nation. To mark this significant occasion, the school organized an investiture ceremony on July 12, 2024.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of Rev. Fr. Ajit Munis, S.D.B., the Principal of Don Bosco Vidyalaya, Savedi, Ahmednagar, alongside Fr. Richard Burkhao, the Principal of Don Bosco English Medium School, Savedi, Ahmednagar and Bro. Aegedius Pereira. The event commenced at 9:30 a.m., with the school office bearers escorting the dignitaries.
Following the lighting of the lamp, Fr Munis was invited to garland the statue of St. Dominic Savio. Subsequently, Teacher Shama introduced him. He was then felicitated by Fr. Richard Burkhao. During his address to the newly to be elected leaders and the students of the school, Munis highlighted the remarkable contributions of St. Dominic Savio to the society at a very young age. He shared an anecdote illustrating St. Dominic Savio's exceptional leadership abilities.
Fr Munis also guided the newly elected leaders, encouraging them to follow in the footsteps of St. Dominic Savio by leading by example. He emphasized the importance of qualities such as amiability and humility towards others, as well as the sincerity in fulfilling responsibilities. Additionally, he advised the leaders to cultivate values such as punctuality, dedication, discipline and determination.
Fr. Richard Burkhao administered the oath to the newly elected office bearers. The school Head Boy, Head Girl, Assistant Head Boy and Assistant Head Girl were presented with their badges and sashes by Father Munis. He also presented the school flag to the Head Boy. The House Captains, Sports Captains and Dramatics Captains received their badges, sashes and house flags from Fr Burkhao. The Head Boy, Head Girl and class monitors of the Primary School were invested by their class teachers.
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Head Girl Isha Angare. Fr Richard Burkhao extended his gratitude to the PTA Members for their presence at the ceremony. Following the ceremony, all the newly elected leaders expressed their satisfaction and joy. Rehan Tamboli, the newly elected Head Boy, expressed his happiness, considering it a moment of great pride.
