Piloo Mody Higher Secondary School and Don Bosco English Medium school, Narukot, celebrated their Annual Day and Parents Meet on 18 January 2023. The theme for the event was ‘Parents Partnership in Educating Children’. Fr Varghese Alengaden, the founder of Universal Solidarity Movement (USM), Indore, was the Chief Guest for the day.
The annual day began with the lighting of the lamp and garlanding the statue of our Father and Founder, St John Bosco. The chief guest and other dignitaries were felicitated and the program commenced. Fr Stanny Ferreira, the Rector of the institute, addressed the parents and welcomed them for the annual day function. Fr Alengaden addressed the audience with an emphasis on the importance of parenting. He encouraged parents to spend time with their children and evaluate the studies and the activities they do in the school and at home; as education is not complete without evaluation. He stressed on maintaining a family spirit among parents and children. He also emphasized on aspects of holistic education. He said: "Education is more than the certification one obtains after each semester or a year; rather it should make every person a real and transformed human being.” He inspired the students to work hard and dream big to attain success in life. The parents who attended the program were thrilled and impressed with his talk.
After this, scholarship was given to the students who excelled in their academics during the previous academic year. Then, Fr Daresh Rathwa, the Principal of both the schools, presented the Annual Report. Then it was time for the celebratory aspect of the annual day, which showcased colourful cultural dances representing various cultures of our diverse country, India. The entire event was a grand success thanks to the cooperation and hard work of the students and teachers of the institution.
The annual day function concluded with a vote of thanks by Fr Daresh Rathwa. It was indeed an amazing day for all the parents and the students.
