by Father Brian Boothello & Cleric Ambrose Monteiro for BISMumbai

Don Bosco Chhotaudepur celebrated the Parish Feast of 'Muktidayani Mata' preceded by a solemn novena and culminating with the Eucharistic Celebration on 15 August. On 14 August, the traditional Marian Katha and recollection for the parishioners was preached by Amrutdhara Don Bosco Director Father Mayank Parmar and his team comprising musicians Shailesh Jadav, Anand Macwan and Raja Macwan with accompaniment on the keyboard and tabla.

Reflecting on Mary's Magnificat, Father Parmar focused on 03 key points:God chooses the weaker person; God always fulfills His promise in His own time; and Blessed are you who have deep faith. He concluded with,"Mary teaches us how to respond to God's call. She is an example of gratitude and rejoicing for having been blessed with grace and mercy. Let us all imitate Mary in her fidelity and perseverance as she teaches us to be faithful through her life example."

On 15 August, soon after the flag hoisting ceremony a solemn Eucharistic celebration was organised, where despite the heavy downpour, the parishioners turned up in large numbers . Father Parmar presided at the Eucharistic celebration ireflecting during the homily on Mary the new Eve, paralleling Christ, the new Adam and how she, like Jesus, was without sin, preserved from corruption, resurrected, and received into heaven, through the benevolence of God.
