Don Bosco Academy, Alirajpur, Madhya Pradesh, inaugurated its Past Pupils Room on the occasion of Fr Charlin's Birthday (the past pupils delegate of DB Alirajpur) in a solemn way. This small ceremony was attended by alumni of different batches from the first to recent ones along with Salesian dignitaries. The event was blessed by Fr Donald Fernandez (the past pupils delegate of St Francis Xavier Province of Mumbai), Br Damodar, Mr Raj (Brother in law of Fr Charlin) and all the co-ordinators of the school on July 15, 2025 in the afternoon.
Fr Manager formally welcomed the guests and all the past pupils present for the small gathering. Fr Principal introduced the dignitaries and highlighted their contributions to the Salesian mission.
In his address, Fr Fernandez traced the origins and purpose of the Don Bosco Alumni movement, emphasizing the importance of maintaining strong connections with former students. He recalled the touching story of Carlo Gastini, one of Don Bosco’s earliest students, who visited his mentor years later to express his gratitude and present him with gifts. This act of love and respect laid the foundation of what would become a worldwide association of alumni.
Fr Fernandez also quoted Don Bosco, saying, “Gather more past pupils, let them come back,” underlining the deep emotional and spiritual bond between the Salesian family and its former students. He encouraged all present to stay connected, contribute to society, and carry forward the values imbibed during their years at Don Bosco institutions.
The newly inaugurated room is intended to serve as a space for the Don Bosco Alumni to meet, share experiences, and foster collaboration for future initiatives. It stands as a symbol of lasting relationships and continued commitment to the values of St John Bosco.
The event concluded on a note of joy and fraternity, reinforcing the spirit of unity and belonging that defines the Salesian educational mission.
